Ok, so. I know I had bad timing but this is the worst. Apologies to all persons who feel hurt, I really didn't mean this end up like it did.

I'm so sick and tired of using references, doing the same old thing in general. I have never been able to do digital paintings in b&w and after the failure in coloring "Innocent Wish" I thought I should start practising. Even for ~Project-Dream's sake. I wanted to paint something completely without references and started doodling. In two seconds I had a face of a horse. A long face. In ten I had the face + long mane. In half an hour I had the neck for the head.

In 45 minutes I realized I was copying *rewston. (Apologies!)

But yes. This is essentially something I would call my dream horse. Young grey Andalusian mare. Done completely without references, which should explain the lack of details etc. Those of you who think I knew how to do horses — ha! in your faces! One of the hardest things I've ever painted. I'm a bit amazed it looks so cartoony, when in reality my style is quite the opposite. In fact, I couldn't do anything resembling a cartoon even if my life was at stake.

Oh, forgot something I really thought about while painting this. Actually I really wanted to see how symmetrical a face I could paint. I started by drawing just one half of the face, then copied and flipped it.

But whilst I was painting, I got to thinking:
You know the saying "beauty is symmetry"?
And the saying "asymmetry creates realistic beauty"?

Which one is it? This is basically as symmetrical as I am able to create. Only some highlights/details are "misplaced" with purpose. So as to cater for both views.
