Artist's Comments

Sorry. I just can't bring myself to work more on this. I know I should but for the moment just can't. Just... can't.

I loved this piece. I still like it.

Arabian mare and a foal. The tough love you should appreciate. The love only mother can give you.
And a storm with sun shining thru it all? I guess so.

I'd love to do the mare's neck all over again. The foal's neck and head are a bit strong for the rest of the body, but I like how clumsy it looks. Cute.
And needless to say: serious work on bg needed.

/EDIT. As always, good comments appreciated more than just :+fav:.

"A mother's love" is a beautiful realistic piece of the love between a mare and her foal and Helekri has spared no effort in the beautiful mother and foals coat and mane. The anatomy of the mother is perfectly done, adding to the cheekiness and warmth created by her pose. The soft colors scheme plays in well with the atmosphere of the piece and the calmness the foal feels from the protection of its mother.

Wow, this is great. I love the interaction between the mom and her foal and I love the mother's mane. It looks very real. :)

Helekri, honestly, I can see that you put a great deal of effort into this piece. And it definitely shows. The white horse is just spectacular with the detail on the nose and neck. And the tones in the piece create a serene atmosphere. I like that a lot. The only thing I would suggest, is maybe a little more detail on the foal. But if the white horse is your point of focus in the piece, then its ok that the foal doesn't have as much detail.

I have to say that you did an amazing job. Very lovely.

I agree with you about the foal looking a bit strong.. But the mare is perfect.

I'm uber jealous of your skill with forelocks/manes. They're always my downfall with any media.

:blackrose: lovely.

Wow, I love this, it's so cute. It definatly expresses the mother's love for the foal. Nice work!

don't think you need any more work on the bg, looks just right as it is :)
the mare is fabulous...the only thing that's actually bugging me is the foal's mouth - to me it seems a little long. :XD:

Sooner or later, in this life or the next, your actions will have a corresponding and equal reaction...so don't do anything too stupid...

I love the mare, but the foal's head looks kind of off
